More Bad News for Newspaper Business

Newspaper advertising sales for 2009's first quarter plummeted over $2.6 billion from the same period in 2008.  That's a 28.3% drop.  And while it's all over the place, online ads were down 13.4%, the real killer once again was classifieds. It continued its freefall with a 42.3% drop in sales.

For all the brutal facts, check the Newspaper Association of America and click the quarterly numbers.
